The funk has returned...
Or maybe it never left! We put Carys to bed last night and about 10 minutes later she started crying. Rob and I went into her room and she was vomiting all over her crib. It was nasty! I brought her out to the couch with me, where we spent the rest of the night. She got sick about every 15-25 minutes from about 8pm to 1:30 am. She ate breakfast fine, then we took Broderick to school. Her and I came home and slept on the couch for about an hour and a half, then went back to get Broderick. She got sick one more time when we got home and that was it. She ate dinner fine and went to bed fine. Hopefully she is better. I talked to 2 friends with babies the same age as Carys and they have been vomiting too. When I put Broderick to bed he said his belly hurt. It could be another long night of nasty! Even as bad as Broderick and I felt last week, nothing is as bad as cleaning up vomit!

Valentine's Day
So these pictures are a little late, but with being sick I wasn't exactly feeling up to blogging. Broderick had a Valentine's Day party at school which was a lot of fun. We made airplane valentines out of candy that he handed out to all of his friends. They even read a shark valentine book, which you know my son was all about. He kept asking the mom in charge when we were going to read it. Thankfully there was still time at the end.

The FUNK has come...and gone
It all started last Tuesday...Rob came home sick. He was sick for about 3 days with a fever, body aches, headache. Friday was a healthy day, then Saturday came. I came down with something awful. Broderick started to get a fever also. Sunday, sick again. Monday, I woke up and thought we would all be feeling better. Was I ever wrong! That was the worst day. Rob had already left for work and I didn't know what I was going to do. Thankfully my mom had the day off and she took Carys for me, who has not gotten sick yet. Broderick and I went to the doctor on Monday and he said we had the flu. He gave us Tamiflu, and some for Carys with hopes she will not get the flu. Tuesday was a little better, but we still spent the day on the couch. Today, we are much better. Broderick and I are still coughing, but no fevers. I am going to be real honest...I had no body aches like a lot of people get with the flu, so I am very thankful, but this was horrible. So far Carys just has a little runny nose and cough. I am feverently praying she does not come down with it. Today for the first time in about a week, my blinds are open. I started cleaning first thing this morning because I felt like my house was one big germ. The smell of pine-sol and sunshine coming through the windows makes me smile!

What we have been up to
My sweet baby girl is moving into toddlerhood nicely. She has recently discovered how to climb onto just about everything. She has a play kitchen she got for Christmas, she climbs on the counters now. She climbed on a little chair then onto the little table and was standing on it. She loves to climb up to the kitchen table and sit. She thinks she is big enought to eat dinner like this now. She also can climb on the toilet to reach the wipes. (one of her favorite things to play with.) Thankfully she hasn't climbed out of her crib yet. I am just waiting for the day that happens!
On Sunday Rob and Broderick had an art class. (Just one of the things my husband is great at!) They made these robots. It is funny how the kids love playing with this kind of stuff. I should just stop buying toys and use my trash to make them things. he,he!
Carys enjoyed coloring at the table. She did a great job of doing it on the paper. She did end up with some on her hands though. To be expected, right?

We're having a BABY!
Okay...not me, but my sister! Did I freak anyone out? The truth is my sister is 13 weeks pregnant and I couldn't be more excited. I love, love, love being an aunt. My sister has a 5 1/2 yr old - Kyler and I have 2 neices - Lindsey and Katie, and 2 nephews - Tyler and Braidy, that don't live near us. So, to be adding another baby to the mix just makes me smile. I just wanted to let the news out.
I will be posting more Valentine's things soon. Broderick and I are making cookies when he gets up and finishing his Valentines for his school party.

John 2:1-11
Yesterday our pastor spoke on this passage. Let me just tell you...I could feel the Lord speaking to me from the beginning. There was one verse that really got to me though. John 2:7 says Jesus said to the servants, "Fill the jars with water"; so they filled them to the brim. Before the pastor even starting talking about this verse I was thinking, "this would have been hard work." I mean, they didn't just have a hose they hooked up and put into the jars. The Bible also says there were 6 jars about 20-30 gallons each. That is a lot of water. Then our pastor said, when the servants started filling the jars they didn't know what the end result was going to be. They didn't know Jesus was going to turn the water into wine. This was the first of Jesus' miracles. The servants probably didn't know much about Jesus at this point. What I felt God saying to me was this: Your jars, Amy, are your children. Fill them to the brim. Yes, it will be hard work, but you don't know what the end result will be. Then I started thinking, how can I fill them if I feel empty? I know the answer is, I need to fill myself with the Holy Spirit. I am still working on this part of the message. If anyone has any pointers let me know.
Along with the above message, I have been reading Bringing Up Boys by James Dobson. This book has been wonderful but scary at the same time. The message of filling up my kids has just been reinforced. If anyone reading has young boys or will be having soon, I highly recommend reading this book. If just gets you thinking.
