Fun filled Memorial Day weekend

We had such a great memorial day weekend. Rob took Friday off. He took Broderick to school that morning and then took Carys out for some Daddy/daughter time. While they were doing that I had a pedicure and manicure...my mother's day gift. It was wonderful! That evening we took the kids to the museum. As you can see below they had a great time...the puppet show was hysterical!
We even got to see dinosaurs there!!! Very cool!
Saturday we went to a ginormous toy store with a very hands on area. They had a water table, dress up room, a dance area, train tables, blocks, tons of stuff for the kids to do...it was really neat. Sunday we went to the pool. Broderick is like a fish and Carys can touch in so many more areas than she could last year. They both loved it and I realized this is going to be a great summer! Broderick has also been asking to go to the playground at his Kindergarten. Since school is still in we haven't really been able to. But on Monday we could.
Carys is playing in 1 of 2 houses that the playground has. Super cute!
Rob and Broderick where shooting hoops on the mini court. Adorable! I love this school and am super excited for Broderick! I don't want to rush the summer because like I said, it is going to be a fun one.

After the playground we went on a little hike. This is becoming a family favorite!
I am so looking forward to the rest of the fun things the warm weather brings!

Hard to believe...

that this little guy is starting kindergarten in just a couple of months. We had orientation at his school last night. I was very impressed and LOVE his school. The principle did a presentation about their philosophies, policies and things. She was very nice, has been in education for 29 years and really seems to love the kids and want what is best for them. Broderick is going to love his school and all the fun, neat, hands on learning they do. The principle said that the teachers really work with the kids to make them a part of the learning. For instance, one class this year found a bird's nest on the playground and they were really into finding out what kind of bird made it. So that classes math, reading, science, and all their other learning was based around birds. Very creative and exciting! I was very happy to learn that Broderick would not be expected to sit at a desk for 2 hours and do worksheets and listen to the teacher. We all know that is not him. He will learn how to do those things, but in small doses. I was feeling very nervous about this next phase of life, but now I am very excited!!!

Little Ballerina

Carys saw these pjs a few months ago and could not wait to get them. We bought them for her over the weekend and she carried them around the mall, held them the whole way home, and of course slept in them that night. She didn't want to take them off to put her dress on for church, which is rare, and wanted them on for nap time and wore them the whole rest of the night. She was very sad when I had to wash them. She is such a girly girl!

Mother's Day at school

This morning was the Mother's day party at Broderick's school. The teachers always do such a wonderful job to make us mothers feel special. Especially by our children. There were these papers hanging up of questions about moms. Mrs Merrill asked the kids the questions and then wrote the answers down. Broderick's was hilarious. I took a picture of it so you all could see for yourself what he said! You can't really read it. It says: What ingredients are moms made of? Skin, What is the difference between moms and dads? Dads are taller than moms, What does you mom do in her spare time? Plays the Wii fit sometimes and exercises on the tv, What would it take to make your mom perfect? I like her exactly as she is, If you could change one thing about your mom what would it be? Nothing, I'd try to keep it the same way, Who is the bass at your house? mom and dad, What is your mom's favorite food? McDonald's hamburgers, What did your mom have to know about your dad before they got married? his name. Too Funny!!
The kids then sang songs for us which is always fun! They sang "Take me out to the ballgame" and wore hats and sunglasses. Broderick was very excited about this part.
They also sang a song where they pretended they were crying! I could not stop smiling through the whole thing. In between two of the songs Broderick asked me why I didn't bring the video camera. I really wish I would have.
Picture of another funny song!
I had a great time with Broderick. When we got home he said, "that was the best mother's day I have had with you!" That made it even more special for me too!

My Nephews

My nephews were over the other day so I took some pictures. They are so sweet and I am not only a lucky mommy, but a lucky aunt!
Carys loves her cousin Kyler.
Aren't these boys too cute!
