Breathe...

The Christmas bustle has come to a calm. We are starting to get all the new toys put away where they belong, which is a process. Thankfully, my husband loves to organize things, so he has done a great job. We blew the bounce house up in the garage today for Broderick to play in and he had fun. He got a ton of new toys, his favorite being dinosaurs and matchbox cars from the movie "Cars". Carys got a lot of new clothes. She will be the best dressed baby. Rob got some clothes, shoes, belts, and a bunch of other things. I got a computer, clothes, coffee pot, knives and screen door. (which I share with my husband of cours.) We had a wonderful Christmas!

A picture to remember

I thought some of you might like to see Broderick's rash. Not a very good picture, but I tried. I took him to the doc on Friday. He thought it might be some kind of fever that I don't know how to spell. It is a form of strep. Turns out the test came back negative. We may never know!!

Oh What a night!!!

Let me start off by saying I am a freak! This afternoon before Broderick went to bed I noticed he had a rash on one of his thighs. I put some cream on it. When he woke up he had a lot more spots. I took him to my wonderful neighbor who works at a dermatologist office, but she wasn't home. In a panic, I called my mom. Being the loving mother and grandma, she came over. She said it was hives. Around 5:30 it all started to go away. My neighbor got home and she stopped by my house. By this time, Broderick had no spots. She suggested giving him some Claritin before bed and said if it came back around his mouth I should take him to the ER. Well, i gave Broderick the medicine and laid him down for bed. At about 9:30 I decided to check on him. To my surprise, he had the rash back on his face. I waited about 20 minutes and checked him again. It had spread to the other side of his face. Frantically, I decided I needed to take him to the ER. I got down there to find out it was going to be 5 hours!!!!! I then called my doctor, which I should have done before I ever left the house. He said to come home and bring Broderick to the office in the morning. When I got home, the rash was all over his legs and arms. I keep obsessing about this rash. (as you can tell...it is 12:45 and I am still awake.) All that to say I am a hypochondriac, obsessive, over paranoid mother! What would you have done? I once heard a mom say, "You just naturally have that intuition about when you should take you kids to the doctor." Let me tell you all, I don't have it!

Long Week

While reading my bible earlier this week I was struck with some convicting truths. I Peter4:7-11 talks a lot about how I should treat other people. v8 "above all love each other deeply" v9 "be hospitable without grumbling" v10 "administer God's grace through my gifts to others" v11 "speak as if speaking the words of God, serve with the strength God provides". What great scripture to read especially during this time of year.
It has been a long week at the James house. Rob worked a ton during the beginning of the week and then was out of town weds - Friday. I am so glad he is home!!! While he was gone I stayed at Jenny's on Weds because Ben was out of town also. That was fun. I tried to sleep with Broderick in Lane's bed. That was an experience! After he woke up at 4am and thought it was time to play I decided to sleep on the couch. Thursday night I decided to stay by myself! I did sleep pretty well. Thankfully he doesn't have to go out of town much. I am glad he is home and the weekend is here.
