We were in Pennsylvania the past week and had a blast. I will post more pictures and "thoughts" later this week about our trip. However, before Valentine's Day gets to far behind us I wanted to post these pictures. My children are so precious, don't ya think? Tonight to celebrate LOVE with our family we are going to have a special Valentines picnic dinner in the living room. Should be fun. Anyway, I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I do!

Work, Vampires and Salad
You are probably asking yourself, "What in the world do work, vampires and salad have anything to do with each other and why is Amy writing about it." I am asking myself that same question. Kind of! They all have either entered or exited my life in the past 2 weeks. I will start with work. I don't know if all of you know but for the past year and a half I have worked very part time at our church with the children's ministry. We have been attending the same church for 6 years and I have volunteered there since the first month we were there. About a year and a half ago the child's director asked me to come on staff part time. Immediately I was not wanting to, but God really changed my heart and I did it. I loved it! About 8 months ago our director stepped down and we had a very rough summer. From the day I took the job I knew that I did it because I loved it and if that ever changed I could/would step out of my role. Eventually someone new was hired and things started to move in a much better direction. However, I was not enjoying it the way I had. I still love children's ministry and love our church. I was just feeling ready to move on. So, As of February 1st, I am unemployed. I have thoroughly enjoyed my first 2 days of not working. It was a very difficult decision, but I am coming to see it was a good one. I am anxiously awaiting what the Lord is going to do with me next! Stay tuned...
Vampires: Sounds kind of creepy doesn't it. No, I didn't come in contact with one (although, now I wish I could! Just kidding) I know you all are aware of the Twilight series books. I swore I would not read the books. SWORE! The movies, I was fine with. I mean, I will watch just about anything, but I am not a big reader and really did not want to waste time on reading about teenage vampires in love! Weird, right!? I saw the first movie when it came out on DVD and thought it was fine. I was however getting a little more excited about seeing the second. My friend had read the first book and was reading New Moon, the second. We had a girls night out planned so I told her when she was done we could go see the movie. Let me tell you...it really peeked my interest. I decided I was going to read the first book. I don't EVER read! EVER! When I checked the book out at the library I told the librarian, Ferree (friend from house church ironically) that I would never finish the book. Especially in the 3 weeks the library allowed me to have it. Her advice, "If it is not good by page 3 give it up!" Well...it was fabulous by page 1!!!! I read a 500 page book in a week and a half. I could not wait to get my hands on New Moon. Thankfully the library was able to help me out with that. I have had it since Sunday and I am already half way through. (Another 500+ page book) They are sooooo good! Very fake, could never happen. But something about the love story just draws you in. It is kind of like Romeo and Juliet. (not quit, but kind of) My friend, that went I went to the movie with, is on the last book. What are people who are obsessed with Twilight - the saga - called? Whatever it is, that is what we are. Who knows, if there is a midnight showing of the 3rd movie, we may be there. If there is a 3rd movie...there better be!
And finally, Salad: If any of you know my kids, you know they eat very little in the category of variety. Thursday, we went out to dinner and Broderick wanted, yes, wanted to try salad. To my surprise he loved it. He ate about half of Rob's and Carys ate about half of mine. The next night, they both asked for salad for dinner. Crazy! I can't get over it. So here are some pictures of my children eating salad.
